Old Tools + BLC! (Video blog)

Saturday, May 21, 2016

I attempted to upload this directly on Spark, but the youtube route seems easier, faster and I can just provide the link here (hoping it works LOL). Spark, me & links don't seem to mix. But with all the fancy updates maybe the links will work now. ;)

^For those who don't want to see the video, the main thing was bringing back the marble jars. I used to love weighing myself weekly and if I saw a loss I would run right over to the jars to move them. It was motivating seeing the shift from the pounds to go jar being so overwhelming, to being seeing the pounds lost jar being the clear winner. It was such a visual motivator, and even if I wasn't seeing it in the mirror all the time, the marbles were showing things were moving in the right direction.

There were so many things I've learned over the years, and I have found 2 million and 2 things that simply didn't work for me. But there were a few things that really did help at one point. I'm not going to lie, I'm not sure if the marbles will be as exciting to me as they were the first time, but it's worth a try. I kind of feel like I have to sort of fake it til I make it. I know once I have a couple weeks on track under my belt I will be feeling so much better both and mentally, but until then I just have to try to stay afloat!

Another thing that actually helped me lose a lot of weight in the beginning of my journey was the Biggest Loser Challenge right here on Spark. The accountability was amazing. If you have followed me for a long time I have had a love/hate relationship with the BLC. I have quit some rounds because of various reasons... and this is not the time or place to get into the reasons why. If I was once on a team with you and I quit, I apologize. I know I had my reasons at the time, but I still am sorry.

But the time seemed right for me to try. The thing about BLC is the teams are all very different, and I do believe there is a right time for every person. What caught my eye about this round were 2 things, it was 8 weeks (a shorter round) and it was also a more relaxed round for Summer. I figure there is no better time to dip my toe back into the BLC water!

I am super excited to be a Minion, and the fact I was lucky enough to be placed on that team already makes me happy! I have a few Spark friends that got to be on the same team and I think we are going to have a blast over the next 8 weeks, and lose some weight too! emoticon

I could go on and on about how excited I am, but tomorrow is the Bachelorette party for my BFF, and we are headed to Catalina Island, so I better start putting my stuff together! I hope everyone has a great rest of the weekend! emoticon
