When is starting over not starting over?

I had BIG plans for the spring. The only big thing that happened was the massive 5lb gain on the scale over the holiday weekend! I was able to ditch about 3lb, but the remaining 2 was mostly extra calories (and stored fat) and not short term sodium storage. It has however given me a kick and motivated me to re-evaluate and try to ditch some bad habits. These periods of feeling motivated AND having will power AND determination rarely coincide or last long, but I seize them and make the most of them while I can, hoping each time to make more progress than the last.
I spend too much time at my PC, watching tv shows and playing games. I don't eat healthily on most work nights. I have way too much alcohol and sodium. I am far too lazy when It's not a work day.
I have put my addictive game on hold for a while. I have now had 3 days of NO sodium-snacks OR alcohol. I created a 1000 calorie deficit on each of the last 3 days. I regularly get in 2hrs walking/biking on work days, but I need to conquer the (excess) eating and lazy habits too.
I'm HOPING that May sees a massive turn-around for me. I know what I NEED to do. I have all the TOOLS and KNOWLEDGE I need. I have enough time left this year to lose most of the weight I want to lose if I'm disciplined and don't exceed my max allowed calories each day. There are so many things I could do instead of slobbing about being lazy. The only thing that stops me is ME. It's about time I took control of "me" and become the me I want to be.
So I'm still going to be doing the same things as before - tracking, exercising, trying to stay in calorie range, trying not to eat too many junk calories, but the few changes I've made will hopeuflly give me more chance to succeed in my goals this time.
