Moving Forward And Beyond Part 2

Wednesday, April 27, 2016

Since my pervious post l have covered brain overload how and what to do to make good decision's. First comes the externalize the problem: Writing, Talking, and or Drawing. For me it is writing and sometimes talking. Second is the simplify of the problem and or problems. Breaking problem down. Many times the problem is larger then we think and it's a few problems wrapped into one. Third is to visualize that you have overcome the issues. Fourth is coming up with ways to deal with the issue. Fifth is put into practice skill or task. I am in brain overload mode. I have many things going on. I'm angry with Charlie dying. Mad he was stubborn about going to the doctors. Guilt over having to make the decision to shut off life support, what if I gave it more time maybe he would have survived. Even though doctors stated he had no chance. Worried if work will hold out with hours so I can pay the bills. I'm on a month to month lease for the house, therefore landlord can have me move at anytime. I have major dental problems that must be taken care of. Worried I could end up homeless again. Next is the: STOP SLOW DOWN THINK then ACT (SSTA) Stop ask how am I feeling and what am I thinking Slow Down give brain a chance to calm down Think put into practice problem solving skills to deal with issue Act carry out solution plan. Effects of stress on my me: Mind :Negative thoughts, negative emotions, feeling of hopelessness Body: Headache, and racing heart. Behaviour: Impulsive or aggressive behaviour, and avoidant behavior Signs of stresses for me head aches, tense muscles, weight gain, sleep problems, and no energy. My behaviour changes eat more, sleep difficulty, over doing activities, yelling & shouting, road rage, avoidance My emotional anxiety, frustration, irritability, restlessness, anger, numbness, and over reacting to the unexpected. Problems with my thinking: can't concentrate, I misunderstanding with others, trouble making decision, being overwhelmed. Learned to use relaxation technics like deep breathing, visualization, count to 20, mediation, and finally pray. Some techinics I have used in the past. Now to break down my issues then to working and coming up with ideas on my issues.
