Moving Forward And Beyond

Monday, April 25, 2016

Yes its time to move forward - which I am working on by doing a online course through the VA called "Moving Forward Overcoming Life's Challenges" I'm working on Module 5 now.

What I am surprised with this online course can also help me with my weight.

So far I have learned I have just been getting by in life. To many options just confuse the hell out of me. For the past 30 plus years I have just been holding on by a rope not really living just going through the motions.

I'm great when things are black or white but life tends to be GREY !

I am learning about:

Techniques Problem Solving (PST) this about life's hurdles which can be Relationship, Financial, Medical / Physical, Emotional (Stress, Anxiety, depression) and Difficulties transitioning back to civilian life.

Types Of Problem Solvers Thoughtful planner, Quick fixer and or the Avoider

Approaches to problems : Effective approach (Optimistic) and In Effective approach (pessimistic).

How to deal with Brain Overload (I call blond moment) - what to do such as Externalize Problems verbally or write them down Visualization.

I tend to be the quick fixer and the Avoider at times .

The quick fixer first idea that i come up with to fix a problem is what I will go for Which usually leads me from frying pan to the fire.

In relationship I look the other way in hopes of the problem goes away on its own. Head in the sand trick "I see nothing - I know nothing" emoticon

Online course asked us to think and write down My strength in problem Solving I couldn't think of a strength I have with problem solving.

In part I have realized I haven't fully dealt with what happened on base to me and I still feel like damaged goods. There has only been one person who never saw me as damaged goods that was my Charlie.

My plan is go through this whole course and use what I am learning to blog my feeling so I have a map in many ways. I know this is a long post and more to come on the break down - My brain is in overload mode I need to get right with that
