Let's hear it for 65...

Had my annual physical today and though the nurse said "you can keep your panties on" I took them off as a routine. As I was talking to my doctor after the check up, she reviewed what other tests I should schedule (mammogram in Oct, blood tests - stop at the lab on your way, CT Scan for lungs - for ex-smokers) she said no need for a pap/pelvic exam. Huh? Seems that once you hit 65 and you haven't contracted HPV (or other STDs) or developed ovarian cancer - then you are off the hook.
Hurrah for 65!
She (and her nurse before her) said "you look great". Love the hair - yes I am a different shade of blond now. Silver with some genuine streaks of "ash" gray.
And I feel great, too. Except for my feet...getting corns, bunions a bit more pronounced...so she said "let's get you to the podiatrist".
That's it...the fabulous 50s whence I was born and named after that fabulous personality Debbie Reynolds.
Of course there are a few benefits that I could do without, but when I think about my essence, the part that makes me who I am...I wouldn't trade it for 20-something for all the chocolate at Sees Candy.
