Starting Over

I've been here before but 'life' got in the way. Now almost 40, two kids and a husband and both parents gone (I'm an only child) and small (BP) health issues, I've got to lose weight for myself and my family's sake. I've started walking more but really need to figure out eating better. I know 'how' just lacking the motivation maybe. My husband says to buy my own food and eat that why I insist we all need to eat better but him our girls won't eat what I fix. All I know is one step at a time for now.

    Try filling half your dinner plate with whatever your family is eating (pizza, pasta, burgers, etc.) and the other half with a healthy vegetable. This might help you with your portion control, yet allow you to eat what they're eating too. NO SECONDS on the unhealthy food, but you can have seconds on the healthy vegetable. Make sure you're getting enough protein, and drink lots of water with your meal. Keep a healthy protein on hand (like cooked chicken breast) to supplement the meal if you still feel hungry.

    Thanks for the feedback. I think I need that an some accountability right now. What was meant by 'brain game'? I have ADHD (w/out the hyperness) which doesn't help either.

    Endurance and optimism are traits of good character. Even though you've been at this point before, we can always reset to begin again. We are never finished growing and improving.

    You can definitely control what you eat for breakfast, lunch and snacks Just start with that. Then start cooking healthy meal for dinner

    Ibhave two sons and a husband at home. My boys are very active and they need a hearty dinner. They are so bony. My husband loves ice cream every night. For me the motivation was a brain game. You can do it again.

    Same here! I lost 18 lbs and have gained back almost 10 of it. Life always gets in the way. I have to continuously rethink my priorities

    Take one day at a time and start small..youve already started by moving more. Best wishes.
