Day 25 - March 17 - Spring Arrived While I Was Gone
Wednesday, April 06, 2016
I had hoped to sleep in this morning...but when the sun rose, I did too. The good news is my "stay up all night" red-eye trick worked again. I'm basically back on "regular" time.
The funny part is I had a lot of friends who were complaining about how hard it was to get up an hour earlier -- daylight savings time hit while I was overseas. Strangely enough, that didn't bother me as I was making a 15-hour time shift. No sympathy from me, though.
So I went outside to wander about in the daylight. And I discovered that Spring had come while I was gone. Those seeds I planted before I left? Starting to sprout. My radishes which had begun to sprout? Flourishing. My dormant roses and grapes had leaves stretching out. And, best of all, on my milkweed plants? Monarch butterfly caterpillars. Several of them.
My yard is not that big (it sounds big, but it's not. I keep it bursting with plants and color if I can.) and it was amazing to see all the changes in the 10 days or so that I had been gone.
And with that, it was back to work. I have an issue on the press in six days. And I've been on vacation. A lot needs to happen in less than a week.
