Puppies, Spiders, Meltdowns

Saturday, April 02, 2016

I just need to complain and throw a pity party for myself. I'm not usually one to complain so loudly but I'm losing it! Well we have had our pup for 10 days now. I feel like I have no idea what I'm doing and some days were good and others were awful, resulting in a total meltdown, something I'm not prone to. The dog requires a lot of time and energy. I'm trying to introduce the pup to my cats. The cat is annoyed but I'm sure they will be friends before I know it, and the kitten is terrified because he is blind and has no idea what this creature is. If we had known the kitten was blind sooner we probably .wouldn't have brought a dog home but with baby steps in time everyone will come around. I'm hoping so anyways. Today is better but I've been feeling overwhelmed and stressed out. I have a sink(and countertop) full of dishes to be done, a yard that needs some heavy spring cleanup, so much raking to do out there, baskets of laundry needing to be washed, have argued with my husband more in the last week than in the last decade about the pup, and now with the quick warming of the weather, spiders are out in full force, and I have a very old home with a basement made of dirt...literally...so you can imagine the eruption of spiders we get. I've been up for 2 hours and I've seen 7 so far. By the end of the day when hus gets home I'll have lost my mind. I have a tried and true method to get them out of my house but with these pets it isn't wise or safe to use my method and I have no idea how I'll combat them! And between the cats and the dog, everyone is afraid of the spiders! Jeez Louise. I'm operating on very little sleep and the constant pain of osteoarthritis is keeping me very high strung. I just don't like myself right now. The puppy is adorable and I'm head over heels for her but selfishly I just want a good sleep so I can function better. I have gained 5 lbs in the last 2 weeks. I hope this is water but I'm going to admit that I ate cheesecake everyday for a week and visited the gross fast food places more than a couple times. I look forward to my dog going for walks with me. I've been more active and that's good. I just need to catch up on chores in order to reboot. I was doing so well! I actually almost bought a pack of cigarettes!! I've been smoke free for 6 months and all I could think of was how much I wanted to smoke. But I didn't. I wish I had a spider proof home and dishwasher. And while we are wishing, throw in a clothes dryer too. The ability to be efficient would blow my mind right now. Sorry for so much negativity! I just want a nap!!!! Thanks for listening.

Sounds like you are dealing with a lot right now! Take a breath and tell yourself that you can get through this! Give yourself time to manage the animals getting more comfortable, and with the cleaning. Take care of yourself! (-:

Can't stand the smell of them now guess when you get open heart surgery you learn that your life is more important then puffing away. You can make a spider repellant that's natural. I use it for bats too. Recipes Pinterest or Google. I use some applecider vinegar and a small amount of dish soap mixed in a plastic cup and place in my house plants. There are recipes for a spray .
