And I have gained 10 pounds. Yes, tracking food & some days going a bit over - I won't lie about the adjustment being hard, but no harder than the last time I've done it. Every day I work out, my legs & ankles swell as far as my skin will stretch. It's uncomfortable & worrisome, so I took Monday off to see if it was the side effect of osteomyelitis, i.e. bone marrow edema, or a result from all the walking. No elliptical = No swelling. No outside walking or going all through Walmart & another store = No swelling. So exercise is causing this swelling. I'm NOT dehydrated. I drink 13 cups of water every day, some days only 10, but I always get 8+. As far as I know my liver is okay. I know I had worrisome blood/urine tests at my yearly Medicare screening, but my doc hasn't said anything about my kidneys & the insurance hag won't call me back. So what do do? Stress over nothing? NOPE. I'm gonna let it ride. Maybe I just pulled my muscles from hitting the high incline so hard without building up gradually. I'm a "jump in with both feet" kind of person. All or none, so it's important that I keep moving & don't just quit. I'll try the elliptical again today & see what hapens tonight with my legs. My goal is to be able to walk my dogs around the pond why Joe fishes...but not until my spine can handle it & that's still a year+ out...if all goes well & there are no more hospital "6-day slumber parties". Stay sane y'all.🌺.

My physical therapist therapist encouraged a mini-trampoline or rebounder and looking on line they make them with tall handles for us to hold on to. I still do not have one but what all she said makes sense. study the lymph system ...especially about the compromises when our nerves and spine are compromised from spinal surgeries esp with your Hx of infection too. Have you ever worn support hose? I did not like the way the knee high or thigh high cut into my legs but love my panty hose - expensive but really helps the swelling problem. But now the hot weather comes and they are MISERABLE!!! all these different issues - I just want to be healthy!!!! Thinking about you and paused to pry for your success in your healing processes.

It was pulled muscles. Too much incline. So I dropped the incline s bit & upped the resistance. Then I got sick & haven't been exercising at all. :-(

Fortunately, I don't eat salt & if it has salt in it, I eat very little of it. My Mom is a saltaholic, so she knows she isn't allowed to cook with salt. Other than that, I drink 82 ounces of water every day, so that would wash most of the salt out.

I would watch the sodium too. Try tracking your food one day and see if you are getting too much. The trackers will tell you. Swelling like that is not normal. Don't you hate insurance!!! Try sitting with you feet elevated. Wish I had the answer for you but hopefully your doctor will. Good luck to you!

What is your sodium intake? If over she 50 should not be more than 1,500 mg per America Heart Association
