Non-food/drug addictions

I have just realized how much time I spend watching TV or being on the computer each day and how much time that takes away from my being able to do other, needed things.

I live in a rural setting with a couple of friends and a couple of family members in the area. When I get up in the morning, I feed the dog and take care of her needs, I brew coffee as I'm doing this so that by the time she is cared for, I am ready to sit in the living room, have juice and coffee and check my computer. I turn the TV on for 'company,' Most days the TV is on all day. Sometimes I listen to music on it through my cable, I try to check my email and Facebook 3 times a day. I should say I used to do this because today it stops.

When you give something less than your full attention, you miss things. I'm not saying I won't ever watch a TV show I like and play solitaire on my computer, but a lot of tasks require more attention, It's early afternoon and I have a LOT to do today. I haven't really gotten started because I slept late and I'm still in my morning routine (minus any TV).

I am looking to evaluate my life as closely as I am evaluating the food I eat or the exercise I do, I think I will be the better for it,

    Don't waste the day away staring at a screen. Get moving. Clean, organize, walk, shop…do something! ;o)
