Swimming Laps

Yesterday, before my Pilates class, I decided that I had enough time to do some swimming. I was doing some laps in the short course pool for about 20 minutes. I did about 150yd warm up, then 300yds of alternating between fast and slow laps. I did one lap as fast as I could followed by a recovery lap then a fast lap again. I timed my fast laps;
1:06min/sec
1:05 min/sec
1:04 min/sec
I followed this with a 150yd cool down.

This is a significant improvement from my average lap time of 1:15min/sec-1:20min/sec a lap. I am trying to pull more with my hands. I am turning more with my body and trying really trying to put a lot of power in my stroke. This is a work in progress. My goal is to get my average lap time to 1 minute a lap. I want to be able to do 350 yards in 7 minutes or less by the end of the year.

I am making progress and I hope to continue to make progress. I am really proud of myself!
