Joyce Meyer - Take 2

God is so good. Several months ago I had been studying the book of James and I really love the verse that says "You have not because you ask not." So during prayer one morning, I was talking to God about this very thing. I explained that there really wasn't any material thing that I could think of that I wanted - just that I desired lots of help on my inside....but someday I would love to meet Joyce Meyer in person and thank her for all that she's done to help bring me back to the Father in a way that I never imagined was even possible. That very afternoon during my lunchtime, I went out to JoyceMeyer.org to read the daily motivationals as I always do. Since this is a daily habit of mine, I'm quite familiar with the website so I immediately noticed a new section labeled "Meet Joyce in Person." ...... she was coming to Detroit to promote her newest book. God, you are the coolest! I asked...and I was going to get.
Friday, June 15th was the day! I got to meet her and tell her thanks. I felt like such a dork and I was soooo nervous. I joked with her staff while waiting my turn in line...and they said a lot of people were nervous and they tried to reassure us all. One of the girls even helped to steady my arm as I took a picture. I shook Dave's hand and thanked him for all that the ministry was doing and had done for me. He is a very kind and warm gentleman. Seemed very friendly and quite handsome! Joyce, of course, was being bombarded from every angle (or so it seemed) and couldn't focus on any one individual for more than about 10secs. She signed my copy of The Penny and then she also signed my favorite book of hers titled Seven Things that Steal Your Joy. I can't remember what I said or if she said anything, but as I was leaving she handed my books back to me and said "God bless you."
It was over so fast.....and then I worked my way to the mob in front of the table and got some great pictures of Dave / Joyce.
Check out my photo gallery.
Someday, I'll get the chance to talk her ear off and be able to thank her for all that she has taught me and for how she brought me back in to fellowship with our Awesome God. Thanks Joyce!
