I need some proof

Wednesday, January 27, 2016

Ok so if been on sparkpeople for about a month. I'm eating healthier with portion control, no pop, no candy. I'm exercising every day and getting in about 10,000 steps. I have barely anything to show that I'm on track. I've lost about 3 lbs and I know it's really just water weight. I feel like I should give up. I know I wont. I just feel like I need proof! I know it isn't going to come off right away. And I know it's all about being consistent and patient but man oh man lol.

Not losing inches. I'm walking a lot at work and I'm also working out in the morning before work or after work for about an hour each day. Not grazing I've been eating a balanced lunch so I'm full and dinner is a light meal and not heavy

I know as a nurse you are doing a lot of walking on the job, but are you getting targeted exercise away from the job? do you find yourself grazing? When I make dinner I graze, so I try and keep it to veggies, helps me a lot.

Have you taken any measurements? are you losing any inches? I know it's so hard when your doing everything right, and the pounds still wont come off. a couple years ago, I organized an exercise group to walk with me at the track every night after work. we worked up to 3 miles, and everyone lost weight except for me. When the summer job ended and I returned to the school year schedule, I started dropping about a pound a week. It was so weird. I didn't lose the weight until the end of 2 months of exercise and diet.

You got this! Keep on Keeping on.

I also know your pain. I get stuck regularly, and I don't go near the scale when my monthly gift is drawing near. Muscle is important, but it is heavy and dense. When I'm adding muscle, my weight stays steady, then I have a drop later!

Don't give up! Sometimes it takes a while for a body to drop weight. Are you losing inches? Keep on going!

Remember, the pounds did not appear over night, give yourself time and be patient and consistent. YOU are worth it!

The KPP diet makes a lot of sense and is contradictory to how most Americans eat. Every time I have a big dinner I think about how Sumo wrestlers eat. They eat several large meals during the day and go to sleep right after. Yikes! Big dinners I avoid

Hang in there!! I got stuck at the same weight point for weeks upon weeks. Eventually it comes off. The KPP (King Prince Pauper) diet is really helpful. If you're unfamiliar with it, eat "like a king" @ breakfast, Prince @ lunch, pauper @ dinner.

If you're exercising and weren't doing that before, you are most likely building muscles, which causes water gain to some degree. Forget about the scale - it is not an accurate method of measuring progress. Measure your body and keep track of that, also measure your progress - do some research to determine if you are getting the right food items, not just portion control. There are a lot of things that can affect our bodies and even though it can be frustrating for me, I've learned that the scale is not always showing my progress! Good luck!
