Trust Yourself

Wednesday, January 27, 2016

Teachers, coaches, mentors, trainers can shorten the learning curve, give you feedback, and provide support. What they can't do is instill trust in yourself; only you can do that.

Your leaders can set up the conditions for trust, but at the end of the day it's your responsibility.

Only you can decide what's true for you, and if you're anything like me you'll drink from the information firehose. Then you'll argue both sides, overthink, overthink some more, quit mulling things over, then come back to it and be curious all over again.

One day, or maybe in one breathe, or one thought you notice it, that glimmer of "ohhhh yeah that's all me!" Trusting yourself can be as easy or hard as you make it.

Whatever you're doing - weight loss, exercise, saving money, looking for a new job, ADULTING - you're doing it right.

Showing up? You're doing it right. Trying and being persistent? You're doing it right. Being intentional and resolute? You're doing it right.

Trust is simply defined as believing in the reliability, truth, ability, or strength of someone or something. Just trust yourself and you'll know how to live. (Quote by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe)
