I have been inspired this last month by a friend of mine who has been posting blogs and updates on Facebook of her weight loss progress. It has only been 4 weeks, but you can see a marked difference in her pictures. I have done before pictures previously, but never on a consistent basis. But I want to see the change in myself like I've been able to see the change in her.
I've mentioned again and again how I'm great at beginnings, and I hate to think of this as just another beginning that won't lead anywhere, so I'm going to try to change my perspective and call it a renewal of committment. Or something. not a beginning but a continuation of the journey I've been on for so long.
So I'm posting pictures. and revamped my goals. I need to revisit my old plan to keep what works and revise what doesn't. I'm trying to keep it simple, and motivating.
--Speaking of motivating--my son is getting married in June!! So exciting. But I want to look great in those wedding pictures. This is what I need to keep in the back of my mind when tempations come calling and my perspective is shortsighted.
So I'm calling this picture (and effort) Week 1 of a long future history of forward progress. (By the way, I purposely wore a shirt that was tight so I can see myself shrink inside of it--that is motivating to me too. )
It will be nice to look good for the wedding, but it will be even more rewarding to know that you are healthier - and the determination it took to achieve your goals. You CAN and WILL do this. The rewards are so very much worth the effort!
