Carrot Cake

Sunday, January 17, 2016

In spite of my requests to not tempt me with desserts, hubby keeps stocking the freezer, and asking me to put the temptations away. I asked him if he wants treats for himself, please hide them from me, but deaf ears is torn between wanting me to lose weight and wanting to buy treats for me...
Several months ago he got a carrot cake on the discount rack and brought it home. It stayed in the freezer until Friday when I dug it out and had a piece. Then another, until I had eaten half of the cake. Instead of being horrified, he brought home another cake!!!! This time I did not hold back or spare his feelings. I refused to touch the new cake, let him put it away and let him know that if he really thinks I should lose weight this is NOT helping. We never argue, but he should know that as time goes by it does not get easier to resist temptations that are sitting in the house. If I get a craving it is a lot easier to resist if I have to go to some trouble to indulge it.
Thanks for letting me get this off my chest.
Now back better habits.

I totally understand....my guy loves the discount rake at the grocers as well. I have had to learn to say no in the store and then do my best not to eat the things he buys. I bought some tootsie rolls and yeah totally out of control for several days with them!

I have gone back to no treats in my house...because I honestly have no willpower. I wish you all the best in getting back on track...sometimes the ones we love don't understand our willpower strength compared to their own.
