Angioplasty and Stent
Friday, January 01, 2016
Much to my surprise I had a 100% blocked left anterior descending artery on my heart. I received a stent to open it in November. I have been eating healthy and exercising for the last 5 years and felt good, so it was a surprise.
The doctor said he was not sure how long it had been blocked as I had grown other vessels in my heart to compensate. I wonder if it's my genetic disposition and/or all the bad foods I ate before. We ate trans fats (margarine, Crisco) growing up, but had no idea those were bad for us. I have never smoked either.
I continue with my healthy eating and am now going to cardiac rehab which I love.
Take care my friends.
