Day 38 - Beck - Dealing with a Plateau

Sunday, November 15, 2015

I will remember that Plateaus are a normal thing and not let myself get too shook up when they happen. I know it is inevitable that I won't continue to consistently lose every week and certainly not every day. I already know this but I need to not let it deter me from staying on the course and throwing in the towel. I know I need to take this to heart because it can interfere with motivation and one can get the "I don't care anymore" attitude or "I'm tired of this". I really need to be aware of this and try my best to be ready. Today I went out for breakfast and ate a garden omelet and hash browns. I was careful the rest of the day but did have some candy with my dinner. I stayed within my calorie range because I had a very light lunch and dinner. I played tennis tonite for a couple of hours and did some yoga. I think yoga is extremely helpful in keeping me loose for tennis. I try to do some positions at various times of the day to keep myself from getting too stiff. I'm always afraid I'll get a lupus flare-up. It's always in the back of my mind. All that pain. I continue to thank God every day that I'm not dealing with it anymore. Have a sparked Sunday!!

emoticon Glad you give yourself some flexibility. A garden omelette and a bite of candy within your calorie range is what we get with being on a lifestyle changes and not a "diet."

It's nice for me to look at the big picture, a weight loss graph over the last year. Then those plateaus don't look so long and flat.

Yup, plateaus can be difficult. You're right, they are natural and you should just keep to your plan. Eat well and exercise. Awesome, I'm enjoying the progress of your blogs.

emoticon I know this story really well. I am coming to a point that, its just not that important to lose every week. I know there are times I will choose chocolate over the apple. I will drink too much wine but over the long haul there will be lost weight as opposed to gains. Good job!
