Do you follow a workout plan or schedule ?

Friday, October 30, 2015

Do you follow a workout plan or schedule ? Is it on paper or workout videos of some kind ?

Why I ask ? Well I have always been a wing it type of person with my workouts , which usually ended up choosing forms of cardio like a walking video workout or the exercise bike etc. and not doing strength exercises often.

Then last year I stumbled upon the bikini body mommy and her free challenges . I did one of her 90 day challenges and made it about halfway and then was in a fibro flare and couldn't continue. Just recently she did a 6 week mini challenge and I did that one and made it through but now that it is over I am lost on what to do .

Should I go back to winging my workouts for now ?

Or does anyone have any recommendations for a workout plan to follow (preferably free) ?

Sorry I missed this entry! I always have a workout plan going on. I like to be organised about it. Right now I have a lower leg injury but it is healing well so in a few weeks I should be able to get back to normal exercise. I am going to walk this afternoon and have a yoga session but that is it for the day since I am healing!

I take 1-2 rest days a week, I don't schedule them in because they fall at different times each week! Most days I do walking and yoga but on other days I add in cardio and TnT!

Over time I've got into the habit of working out 3 times a week using a combination of exercises I've learned from SP and other places.
You need to find something you enjoy and that suits you- don't follow anyone else and make sure it won't cause injury.

Once you've found something you enjoy you'll stick with it as you'll be more motivated. emoticon

I am firm about my Food Plan, and wing the rest of it. There is only so much rigidity I can handle.

I just wing it but I think I would do better if I had a plan and it was written down......

I don't do formal workouts. I prefer to get exercise by doing every day work like gardening, vacuuming, cleaning the screen room, etc.

I second the YouTube recommendation. JM has the 30 Day Shred and other options. Jessica Smith has a nice assortment too. If you're interested in a strength program, I really like Jamie Eason's Live Fit 12 week program.

Teresa Marie is starting a 30 Day Tabata Challenge in November. I'm going to check that out.

Keep exploring and trying new things...and enjoy the journey!!

Spark has tons of challenges that you can access from your Start page! My workouts a re a mix of planning and winging it. Since I'm carless, I walk A LOT and sometimes take the long way just to get in a little exercise. But I also go to the gym for more intense workouts.

I do a long walk with arm weights twice a week. This is mixed in with 2 short runs and 2 long runs. Then M-W-F I also do push-ups, abs and pull-ups. Basically pick a schedule that works for you and stick with it.
