Today I feel like having fun, whether it's the children's excitement over Halloween and Bonfire Night or I'm just feeling a little hyper from my exercise today; who knows? Who cares? Why don't we just throw off the shackles of adult responsibility (after all it is Friday) and have some spontaneous fun?
I know that everyone has their own ideas, but here goes with my list. I wasn't going to blog today, but I have had such a good time; I wanted to share.
1. We don't trick or treat because where we live is just too rural, I have never felt it's right to go to neighbourhoods further away. So this morning, when the boys and I were baking (good wholesome messy fun); we made extras and took them out to our neighbours who are mainly elderly. We had so much fun! Our neighbours enjoyed the surprise and there was a lot of laughter. Plus the boys learnt that it is better to give rather than receive.
2. Then rather than my usual 5K, we went to a large country park. The rain had just stopped and the sun was just peaking through the clouds so we ran around, stomped in muddy puddles, collected leaves, and I have to admit it we all went and played at the play park. What started as a thirty minute distraction, lasted for a good two hours! We came home looking muddy and bedraggled; hot showers, fresh clothes, homemade soup and the fire roaring away, remedied the situation.
3. This afternoon was spent making cutting out bats and other spooky decorations, plus there has been glitter. This Mommy always needs glitter!
4. Finally, we are going to practice our Halloween dance moves; the music is queued up and we are ready to go.
I have no idea how to log all of this 'activity' on SP but I think I have burnt more calories today, than during my usual exercise regime! So let's get out there and have some good old fashioned boisterous merriment and burn off those calories too!
Hope you are all having a fit and fun Friday!
