Quilt Repairs

Tuesday, October 13, 2015

I repaired a quilt made by my Great-Grandmother. I am guessing she made it in the 1950's because I remember my grandmother having an apron made from one of the fabrics in the quilt.

It was fun to see how she made it. It was a quilt as you go pattern. Each triangle was a square folded over a piece of batting then sewn to another triangle square. Each block is made up of four triangle squares and quilted. The blocks were then sewn together with a cross whipstitch on the back. The quilt is reversible.
I forgot to take a before picture. But many of the rows had come apart.
