Raising a Glass to the Weekend!
Friday, October 09, 2015
Yesterday sat at my kitchen table writing the labels for the myriads of chutneys filling my cupboards. I took the time to reflect how important it is to balance the time spent hanging out with family and friends; and the need to spend quiet time alone. Most of my alone time is spent exercising, meditating or in that precious 15 minutes after the boys bedtime when I sit down and read.
Today for the second time in a week I'm hitting the road. I'm going to see my Niece; she is seventeen years old today. I have bravely or foolishly agreed to chaperone her birthday party with thirty-seven other teenagers. The plan was always to take the boys with me so that they could stay with their Nanny; however they need to stay at home and recover from this particularly nasty cold. So once again my darling will be looking after the boys overnight.
The ebb and flow of activity was quite pronounced this week.
However I always try and honour my commitments, so it's time to go and hang out with my family and a bunch of teenagers tonight. Tomorrow when I return home the rhythm of our home life can begin once again. So no goals for today, just meander through the day and take things as they come.
So let's raise a glass to the weekend! I wish you all health and happiness.
