15 days on WW

I've had some good success on WW. So far I'm down about 8.5lbs and my husband is down about 5 even though he isn't actually doing WW, he's just eating what I eat - although I remind him to eat more because he has higher calorie requirements.

Aaaaand he makes me eat more salads than I want to so we're even.

I feel like having cancer and being unable to work for 9 months and having zero energy to do things around the house has made me more appreciative of what I do have. I'm more productive at my job. I'm more productive around the house and the laundry actually gets done every week instead of whenever we run out of clean clothes.

I'm also extremely aware of the fact that losing weight will help me stay cancer free. The nurse stressed that over and over and over again at my appointments when I'd weigh in and be basically the same weight as I'd been the week before.

But I was still feeling sorry for myself. So I ate crap and regained 8 of the 12 pounds I lost through my chemo.

I'm now down below what I consider my chemo low. Which is awesome.

I'm doing it with only food. We dropped our gym memberships because it was a pretty big waste of money for two people who weren't going. And knowing that diet is 80% of weight loss is pretty important.

So, we walk the dog, we do our yardwork and the housework. We'd like to hike a little, but that'll probably wait until next summer now. And I'm going to run again when I recover from this darned injury.

Overall, things are going great and I'm happy with where I am. And hoping to maybe be here a bit more often because the community is significantly more active than WW online (that lasted 2 weeks!)

    Did you just say that you are down 8.5 pounds in 2 weeks?! emoticon You should try to go kayaking one more time before it's too cold. :)

    I am glad to hear that you are doing well. The weight loss is great, I know it is hard and harder to keep going and even harder than that to keep it off, but you can do it.
