Kitchen Wars

Monday, September 28, 2015

You would think I was talking about a food competition show, but I'm not. I'm talking about a battle waging in my household.

Let me begin by saying, previous to my journey to a better & healthier me, I cooked very little. I ate out most of the time, because it was quick & easy.
I'm done with the quick & easy; I'm looking for the healthy.

I live with 4 adults, all of whom very set in their ways, taste, and or mindsets.

I have one person that wants to "suggest" how to do things. I have another who wants to eat all my low fat, low cal foods. One only wants to sit in one spot in the kitchen so it better be available. I have another who wants to taste all the finished product, even when I have weighed & measure everything just right.

Mostly, I'm battling for refrigerator space. It's like playing Jenga, to get the milk gallon.

With time, I'm confident that we'll all learn to co-exist again. I'm shaking things up our house & waging war against my bad habits. emoticon

My question for all of you, "What are you fighting for?" Are you fighting to get past that final mile, or fighting to conquer your sweet tooth?

The thing with battles, many can be fought, some will be lost, but it's the ones you win after a lose that are that much sweeter.

Girl I am feeling you in the battle! I am realizing that I might have to make food for everyone else and eat at a separate time just so I won't be tempted. Last night I made dinner for my family and I ate something small after I had cleaned up after them. It ended up working out but lets see if I can do that again tonight.

My biggest struggle is being tempted by the junk that is brought into my house. I am not strong enough if its here so I am trying to do everything I can to stay out of the kitchen as much as possible and get myself busy doing something else. That and my horrible sweet tooth.

I'm with Robbiey, just keep pushing. emoticon
