Add a Little Pizazz to Your Friday

I woke this morning feeling a little sluggish, delicate and pretty dreary, whilst out walking I decided that I need a little extra vim and vigour. I know why: I ate poorly yesterday, had 3 hours sleep, compounded by very busy week. My self care regime had broken down, I need to get back on track but have a little fun whilst doing it.
1.Listen to some lively music, I need to sing and dance around the house whilst doing my chores. I have no shame, it will be loud, out of tune and out of step, but who cares? It makes me happy (plus all of those extra steps I can fit in!).
2.I'm going to add a little extra ginger into my diet, a nice cup of ginger tea to starters, I still have a cough and stuffy nose from the flu, so I'm making a nice and soothing yet spicy cough mixture. I have already grabbed a nice and spicy curry from the freezer for tonight's dinner, I will add a little extra grated ginger for a little extra zip. Ginger raises the metabolism, aids digestion, and reduces inflammation. I have to say I love a little extra spice!
3.Finally I'm going to get my aromatherapy burner going, I have a lovely blend of oils that will do the trick. Plus our home will smell divine. Finally after all of that dancing and singing I'm going to put my feet up, plan my jam/chutney making session surrounded by my favorite preserving books.
I have found that just writing this blog has already livened me up, sometimes I need to remember not to burn the candle at both ends; I am NOT Superwoman. On a more positive note I have been enjoying standing by the cooker making lotions (salves and lip balms) and potions (syrups and tinctures for the coming winter. I have made the first batch of Red Tomato and Apple chutney and tomorrow I'm making a recipe for 'Posh' Piccalilli. I find Autumn such a beautiful and stimulating season, dealing with the produce I have tended to over the Spring and Summer months.
