Welcome to the world little man :)

On Monday, September 14th at 2:04 a.m. my first grandchild was born! I don't think I've stopped smiling since :) He weighed 7 lbs. 14 oz., was 19 inches long, and just perfect!
When he took his first breath, he took mine away. As my son placed him in my arms, I was in awe of such a miracle! He grabbed hold of my finger and didn't let go. I am sure he smiled at me, too. Everyone who has seen the picture of us says we smiled at each other! I talked to him, he cooed at me, and all was right with the world. What special moments they were! He stole my heart and made my life complete!
I am so fortunate that I live less than 2 hours away so will be able to see him often! He is the love of my life, and yes, he will be spoiled rotten! But that's what Grandmas are for, right? I now know exactly how my mom felt the first time she held my son! And yes, she spoiled him rotten ;)
He is so precious, I am so proud...the happiest person alive!
Someone new has joined our family, an infant small and sweet.
A perfect little package from his head down to his feet.
I'm filled with awe and wonder and immeasurable joy,
Such a feeling of fulfillment to hold this darling boy.
Ring bells! Beat drums! Best news for many a year.
This long awaited grandchild is finally here.
His father was my offspring, whom I nurtured all those years.
And this precious little bundle has rekindled all my fears.
I know his Mom will care for him, help him get along,
His Dad will play a good part too and I must just look on.
For though this child means so much more
Than words could ever say.
The duty isn't mine alone, to see him on life's way.
I'll wait in the wings for my curtain call,
My role will be a pleasure.
To give his parents my support,
And guard this special treasure.

My son and daughter-in-law have asked me not to share his name or any pictures, so I am honoring their wishes.
