So... I conformed.

Sunday, September 06, 2015

I wasn't going to get a FitBit because I hate running with the pack.... But I did. I really thought I was going to be purchasing a glorified pedometer... And I did, but better. Turns out I really like it. Not at first though....

So, I first I had to get over the guilt of fooling myself into thinking I WAS actually moving my body. My Convo.: I'm lazy. I fool myself into thinking I'm moving. I'm not active. GOT IT! CHECK!

I saw pictures from a Spark Friend of her walking adventure. Curious, I asked her. (THANK YOU ONTHEPATH.) emoticon

She told me about a website Walk4Fun. And GREAT NEWS! I could sync my Fitbit and NEVER have to track my mileage. Just login every night and see where I went. I chose Arizonia Trail because my husband is from AZ, so he likes too see them pics also.

So, the more I walk everyday, the more of the trail I got to see. Kind of a motivator.

Logging on to Spark today to track my work out I realized I could sync my FitBit to this sight as well. Where have I been? How did I not know this?

So, now I feel lazier than ever that something else is doing all of the work on tracking my workouts. But I don't feel guilty about trying to beat yesterday's steps, everyday. Almost a little anxiety I won't do it... But I can probably live with that! emoticon

I didn't know you could sync the FitBit with this?! I'm going to have to check that out! Can you send me an email so we can be FitBit 'friends'? I'll send you my email address in a private message. I heard about the virtual walk thing from OnThePath too, but didn't realize it too could sync with the FitBit. Time to re-check that out!
Looking forward to tracking some serious mileage this fall, and to see yours too!

They're definitely not for obsessive types, but for the rest of us they're a great accountability partner, lol!

I also try to not follow the pack, and therefore, I am not buying a fitbit. Mostly because I'm a runner with a desk job and I really like to pretend that running makes up for a very sedentary work day lol :)

But congrats on making your progress visible :)

BTW, I added you as a SparkFriend. Feel free to add me as well :)
