Tuesday but my Friday

Today is my Friday and it feels awesome. We should have 2 day work weeks every week! DH and I are heading to my family cottage tomorrow. He's never been to the area and I am very excited to show him around. We've been trying to make it there for the past few summers but there was always something else going on.

I did up my meal plan and all of my grocery shopping over the weekend. I'm all prepped and ready to go. I just hope I don't get too carried away with the "cottage" mentality of an excuse to eat bad food. I only bought a few snacks - most of which I bought for DH and won't touch because they're not my favourites. I did, however bring stuff for smores...I can't say no to smores. I can however choose to only say yes to one!

I have a lot of activities planned for DH and I to get some APs! Trail hiking, canoeing, biking, swimming, etc. It should be an active few days. I definitely didn't forget to leave some room for lounging around on the beach!

Over the weekend we said goodbye to SIL. She's currently on her way to LA to catch her transfer flight to New Zealand. She has a year-long visa to travel and I couldn't be more excited for her. What an incredible experience this is going to be. She's never lived on her own, paid her own bills, bought her own groceries. Never been alone. She has a lot to learn but I think she's going to thrive. As long as she gets past the being homesick part.

WI tomorrow will be interesting. I didn't have a great weekend food-wise. Friday we helped my best friend paint her new house and she treated us to pizza dinner. Saturday we went to a friends house for a barbecue. Food was great but I had a few drinks that pushed me over the top. Sunday we had everyone over for dinner for the goodbye dinner. Food was good overall except for the brownie and ice cream I had for dessert. Monday was a great day until we decided to go for drinks after baseball and I dug into the communal irish nacho platter *face palm*

I'm taking everything in stride and reflecting a lot. This weekend was the best "bad" weekend I've ever had. Each day had something I could have done differently but each day ONLY had one thing. That would have never happened before. So, if I see a little gain this week, that's okay. I'm a work in progress :)

    What a great achievement in your "bad" weekend! Congrats on that - it's a huge step!

    I hope you have a nice get-a-way with your hubby. Sounds like you have a great plan for food and exercise.
