Since we are empty nesters once again, my hubby and I are celebrating our anniversary this weekend since we couldn't on Monday. I asked my hubby what he wanted to do to spend the day together and he said, let's go for a long walk! I of course loved the idea. So we went to St. Anthony Main where we were earlier this Spring but I love this place so much so enjoyed it again today.
This is always the view that greets us as we start our walk. At one point, I just had to stop for a few minutes and look around and enjoy all of the beauty surrounding me as it made me so happy!
A large anchor from many years ago.
As I saw the Mississippi river, I thought of you Claire and the Seine River!
I thought these little metal sculpture of frogs and turtles were just adorable!
This is left over from the flour mill days when they got power from the water. I thought it was kind of quaint to see the old with the flowers growing through it.
A mother duck with her teenage duck close by!
This one and the next few were full of beautiful butterflies!
After our walk, we came home to relax for a little bit, take the little dog out for her walk and now we are getting ready to go out to an Italian restaurant that we have never been to before for our dinner!
I hope you enjoyed my walk as well.
Happy Anniversary! What a beautiful view of your city. I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, and while I love living in a small town (albeit one with a lot of sophistication, culture, and diversity), I miss the juxtaposition of the big city and the green space and natural areas the city contains. It's so nice to see that you have a lot of that too. Sounds like a wonderful day for you and your hubby 2072 days ago
Lovely walk, hope you had a wonderful Anniversary and enjoy many more to come. Steve and I used to love going for Italian foods. There was a fantastic one in South Miami when we lived there-they had a wonderful lamb dish-way back in the eighties. 2075 days ago
Oh Holly, this is such a beautiful place... a perfect way to start the celebration of your 30th anniversary! I am glad you shared you walk with us as I loved seeing your pictures. The first one especially is really amazing (and the Mississipi river of course... indeed reminding me of our lovely walk by the Seine in Andrésy!). I am sure your dinner was wonderful too! 2078 days ago
