Doing well!

Tuesday, August 11, 2015

I have not blogged for some time but since I am on vacation I have no excuse!

Life has been difficult, my father passed away from Pancreatic cancer on April 17 and we had the funeral on April 25. My Mom is doing okay but she is very lonely at times. Luckily, I live with her so that makes her life a bit easier. Fortunately, my father did not have to suffer in a lot of pain for a long time.

While I was out sick during my three surgeries my job was totally changed and after working at one place for over 20 years I am now on one of the colleges campuses. This has not been bad for me just a lot of change in my life too quick. My two assistants were both laid off and I now am basically doing my job by myself. I have to travel from campus to campus to get the computer labs and materials set up so I now travel quite a bit.

I have taken my Mom on a plane to visit my brother in Ohio and she seems to be having a good time. We flew Frontier and they treated Mom very nice. She needs a wheel chair because it is too far to walk with her bum knee. Frontier pushed her right to the door and in Ohio to the luggage. They made something that could have been very difficult very easy!

I am feeling pretty good and I have been released by my doctor for a year. He would like me to lose about 10 pounds or to about 155 pounds. I really have to start watching what I am eating better. Big change though from my 238 pounds!

Good to hear from you, Betsy. I am praying for you and your mom. That is a lot of change all at once. I pray continued healing for you, strength for your days, and grace in the adjustments for you and your mom. So glad you are with her. I am sure it makes it easier for her going through the grieving process. How long were they married? Sending hugs to both of you.
