Be Here Now

I am human being, NOT a human doing, yet I spend most of my time doing rather than being. So today is about noticing whether I'm in the moment, or whether I'm thinking about the future or the past.
1.I am going to focus on the present, by constantly having one eye on the future I'm splitting my attention. Rather than thinking about 'there' I need to think about 'here' instead. So today I'm going to be in the 'now.' This should help me remain calmer and less stressed.
2.Practice Zen: I am hiking today, I am going to focus on the process of walking, notice my surroundings, not rush and take each moment as it comes.
3.Spend a moment appreciating where I am, down to the minutiae - use all of my senses to appreciate that moment.

Yesterday was a really good, I sat down and wrote my short story. It was quite a liberating exercise. I love to meditate, my mind is so busy and constantly chatters, meditation keeps me relatively sane and helps with my focus. It will always be part of my life. Finally I listened to my subconscious, I said no to a friend who wanted to visit very late and I was very tired (still felt a pang of guilt) but ultimately I knew that I needed to go to bed, I just had run out of energy.

    Thank you for your lovely comments! I love that too, I think I may embroider this (my winter hobby) and put up in the lounge, it seems so apt at the moment.

    Ohhhh High School kids, I was a terror emoticon even worse I never go caught...lol

    It just felt right to try and make my life as positive and healthy as I can make it, Missusriverrat.
