No one was going to drag me off the couch and push me out the door to go to the gym. I had to do it myself. I had been avoiding the gym for about four months. Had no energy and was depressed due to a horrible work situation. However, if I let work stress keep me out of the gym the only person I'm hurting is myself. I did have some knee and neck pain to deal with but that also won't get better by just sitting around. It was so good to see my Zumba friends and get back into the fun and the rythym of a class. I need to get my joyfullness back. I've started meal planning, which is the only way to go if you want to stay within your calorie goals. I had a salad at lunch with no meat (spring mix) and homemade stir fry with chicken and vegetables (no noodles or rice) and a egg, kale, turkey wrap to add to my protien and fiber intake. My nutrition tracker says I only had 12 grams of fiber!! That can't be right. I used a Lean Cuisine stir fry from the list to stand in for my home cooked version. The calories are usually pretty close but the nutrition is way low compared to all the cabbage and carrots and almonds I had in mine. I'm not that obsessed with the tracking though. As long as it's reasonably close and forces me to look at what I ate, it serves the purpose.
