A fire looms large (a real fire!)

I am feeling unsettled.
There is a fire over the ridge from my house. It is not contained and the winds are picking up.


This is the view from my deck. A peak through those trees reveals a spooky cloud of smoke. I voluntarily evacuated last night, with the dogs and some valuables. My husband and daughter are due back into town in a few hours. As long as our people and pets are okay...I know I can cope with whatever happens. But it is definitely unsettling.

One of my SparkFriends wrote a blog recently about how many different meanings the sentence "I need chocolate," can have. Today, that sentence means, I am scared my house will burn up, I hope all my neighbors stay out of harms way, and I feel so powerless in this situation.
