Just had a visit with my 27-year old niece whom I haven't seen in 20 years.

She's my height.
Has my brown eyes.
Has my teeth.

She came from a cruise. Before cruising, she weighed 137. After cruise, she weighed in at 141ish. (Not bad for a cruise) Said food wasn't too great except the pizza and icecream.

Okay, I digressed.

We weigh about the same! Only she has muscles, where I have the flab.

Any thoughts on this?

    I'd have to agree with the consensus here. I work my muscles pretty hard and I do have some muscle tone. Will have to see when I get down to my weight if indeed the muscle is less..... emoticon . Right now there is a thin layer covering the muscle so I am not sure...... But age is definitely a factor too.

    If one does not "use it" one does in fact "lose it"...as it pertains to muscle loss over the years. (which is another one of the reasons that we burn less calories--because muscle burns more!)

    I just find that it is HARDER to gain muscle as one ages...
