Adjusting Goals

Friday, April 17, 2015

When I decided to lose 50 pounds in two years, it sounded like a "cake-walk". That was before my sister was diagnosed with a terminal illness with me as the power of attorney and my mother suddenly needed 24 hour care. My husband filled in while I was with my sister but I was never without concern for both of them and trying to be aware of their needs.
After my sister died I had responsibility for disposing of her belongings including a house that smelled of cat urine and cigarettes, all the while making arrangements for mother to move to a nursing home and visiting her daily to smooth the transition.
Fast forward to today. No appreciable loss in weight. All the furniture moving etc from the estate aggravated my knee and I learned I had arthritis. More reason to lose weight.
So I guess we adjust the timetable and start over...again. We know we can do it. Life will always have it's own agenda. Well, I always did like a challenge. Back to the drawing board.
