This week I have completed 234.5 miles of the Pacific Crest Trail! I am now almost halfway through stage 8 (I-10 to Highway 18/Big Bear City). That is 8.7% complete in 31 days! Only 2,455 more miles to go!
Day 24 hiking along.....
There was this swarm of lady bugs!
camp for the night
Day 25 I found this perch to take in the view!
Day 26 was a longer day on the trail. The trees were dead...
snow hills made for frolicking
enough fun, busting on the poles, let's go!
hokey pete, this is a serious climb!
The ice reminds me of home in Michigan...
Oh sure and NOW they post the hazard sign!
on we hike...
Trail marker with a view!
Hokey pete there are more snow covered mountains ahead!
Imagine that! An outhouse on the trail, hopefully complete with toilet paper! Amazing the things that seem wonderful out here!
Gotta love a hiker with a shark tent!
Yep the hills are steep!
Yes, that sign really does say Suicide Trail!
The trees and view are beautiful!
That is until those trees block the trail and become a challenge!
Beautiful sunset at Fuller Ridge!
Day 27 brings signs of a fire - which was actually started by a hikers cook stove!
Things to cause you to ponder...what and why!
More trail flowers
Yep, there's those mountains!
amazing how it goes from snow to HOT!
Looks like a good place to take a rest!
Sometimes you wonder how this big rock got here...
On we walk...
Oh my gosh! Trail Angels... with some welcome shade, cold brews and a bbq! There ARE good people in the world!
Day 28 brings abandoned cars..
More Trail Angels at work!
and Interstate I-10!
Day 29 was more hot sweaty hiking... and there were these flowers left on this rock... more to ponder!
A Welcome break from Mr Sun in the shade of this bush. What I wouldn't give for some of that snow in this desert heat!
Yes, this is the wilderness!
Look a wind farm!
Oh my gosh and a DRINKING FOUNTAIN!
Day 30, those mountains are still ahead! We found a water hole to frolic in!
Day 31, Easter! We have been crossing Mission Creek - 13 times so far!
This is my closing shot for the day! Happy Easter everyone! Happy Trails!
