There is a sad little phrase most of us know all too well: "I wish I had..."
How many times a day do you trot out that little guilty thought.
"I wish I had not over eaten last night."
"I wish I had gone to the gym."
"I wish I had not left Spark for so long."
I wish I may, I wish I might.
There is another phrase that I am learning to pull out at those times.
Yes. "Instead of..." is not about the past. It is about the here and now.
Let me give you some examples:
"Instead of throwing myself a pitty party, I'm going to get back on track and go to the gym today. Better yet, the weather is great, I'll go to the gym and for a hike!"
"Instead of worrying about what I did last night, I'm going to get a workable food plan in place for today and while I"m at it, for tomorrow."
"Instead of feeling a little lost and out of sorts since I've been away from Spark for so long, I'm going to jump back into logging in, tracking, supporting and being supported."
Instead of indulging in comfort food, I'm going to indulge in comfort journaling, comfort walking, comfort reading, comfort hugging and comfort Sparking.
There, I feel better already.
Have a great day and Easter blessings to all! XOXO
