Reflecting on this BLC

The first six weeks of BLC...

I was very tentative with exercise goals: I had just "graduated" from physical therapy for several related problems: strained Achilles tendons, tight hips and gluts, as well as an injury to my arm and shoulder. I had been so limited in the previous challenge but I gradually gained back strength and conditioning, mostly through circuit training.

The first six weeks of BLC...

I was limited from my favorite, and most convenient, form of exercise: walking and biking to and from work. The weather only allowed me to walk about once a week, if that, and the bike has JUST come out of hibernation. Today I biked home in sunshine with a cool, refreshing breeze and felt like yelling "WHEEEEEE!"

The first six weeks of BLC...

I struggled with a new phase of perimenopause and worried that I would never lose weight again!

The first six weeks of BLC...

I logged regularly but often ate over or at the high end of my range. A few weeks ago a weekend challenge prompted me to experiment with some restrictive eating and it helped me shift some of my thinking about food choices.. and finally lose a few pounds on top of the inches I had been losing!

My first six weeks of BLC...

I met my new teammates with all of my usual awkwardness and tentativeness.

Now, I am working out almost daily.
Now, I am challenging myself to have some low-calorie days.
Now, I am comfortable with my "new" team and plan to stay there in the next challenge.
Now, I am hopeful that I can keep losing inches and pounds over the next few months and into the summer.
