Temptations I Resisted

Good day today. Started out with a nice healthy breakfast. Then went tubing with my daughter, dad, niece, and nephew. After tubing my dad wanted to have lunch there. All that was available was hotdogs and nachos. I choose not to eat knowing I could get something healthy after I got home. I was however very thirsty and I wasn't going to wait to get home for a drink, but all they had available was hot cocoa and soda. Well I ended up getting a diet mountain dew. The best I could do considering.

After we got home and my daughter took her nap. I got supper ready cause we had invited my dad over for dinner. Something my daughter was very excited about. It was a new recipe that I had never tried before. Chicken Bacon Ranch Pizza Casserole. It took quite alot of work but was delicious, but very high in calories. To make matters worse the only vegetable my dad will eat is corn. So I made corn for a vegetable side. I did good though. Only had less then 2 cups worth of the casserole and half a cup of corn, but the food was delicious and the company great. I also made frosted brownies for desert. I had a very small piece myself. About the size of a normal eraser, like the pink ones I used in school way back when lol.

So I have been having a hard time getting down the recommended 8 cups of water a day. So today I picked up some Crystal Light on the go. Not as good as water I know, but it has to be better than not getting all my water in right?

Another problem I've been having is overeating at night time. Usually starts when my daughter goes down for bed. 8 o'clock, but tonight has been much better I found a few things that help. Herbal tea works wonders. Delicious flavor as well as warmth in the belly helps keeps the craving to eat away. Crochet is another. Keeps my hands and mind busy enough not to dwell much on food.

Well that's it for today. Tomorrow is my first weigh in. Technically I started again on Wednesday, but I really like my weigh in days on Sunday. Just feels right somehow. So I'm not expecting much. Any little loss will make me very happy.

    I think you are doing very good with your weight loss and maintaining. As for the little cravings...I've been having some odd ones of my owns. Some of these cravings I should not test the water with but I do. I get sick when I eat foods that are not recommended for me. LOL! Like my cheese sticks. I'm thinking 14.99 is now going to waste of money. My kids don't even care for them. Everyone is like. What happen to the yummy goodness? Tastes buds are changing for everyone.

    Sounds like you're doing great! An occasional splurge like Pizza Casserole, Corn and Brownie Bite is not going to do any permanent harm (and getting outside burned off some of those calories.) Diet Soda or Crystal Light are not the best choices but a whole lot better than Regular Soda! Just keep up the good work at thinking before eating and you'll be fine!

    Great job! Definitely keeping the hands busy, tea and staying out of the kitchen are 3 things I do to avoid temptations.

    You did well. It is always tough when away from home, our safety zone. emoticon Plus you had an awesome family day, and that will be a lasting memory not overshadowed by overeating.

    When it comes to night time overeating, you sound like you have a good plan for yourself. Tea and keeping your hands busy. I do my own version of that. I read at night, books that are really interesting to me, or work on reading recipes from cookbooks. Plus being on SP is part of my nightly ritual.
