out of kilter......

It's been ten days since I've exercised and with each day I feel better.

I've also done some research here at Sparks about what poses would be good for me. One is a glorified reach over and touch my toes with spread eagle legs. And I can tell you that my body is not ready for it. So I went ahead and accepted an invitation to go out of town this weekend, and then start my exercise program slowly, the way that I did last October. I'll leave the most recent class to the last, and see if I can regain some strength. In the meanwhile, I'll check with a couple of instructors to see what they have to say. I agree: holding the poses as long as I did on a week ago Wednesday is not yet something that I can do. I need to go back to seconds.

    Yup, when I exercise, it is mostly in my comfort zone, maybe a little beyond, but not much. I let my body slowly transform.

    I don't adhere to the "no pain, no gain" idea, there might be pain, followed by injury, followed by not exercising at all for a while. Nope nope nope.

    I would say, keep doing what you can comfortably do, over extending does more damage than good, as you can see (feel). So stay within your ability, not in some body else's accomplishments, and those instructors should know that you can't start out where they are when they have done it for a living.
