A Reason To Get Up In The Morning
Sunday, February 22, 2015
We all need a purpose in life. A reason to get up in the morning. For the last 6 months I have been feeling like I have no purpose.
Every morning I get up, go to work for a measly 3 hrs where I am not appreciated for the important work that I do. I then go home, eat lunch, take a nap, or do laundry and then wait for my daughter to get home from school. I look forward to seeing her and hope that she has some little tid bit about her day that she would like to share with me. Maybe she did something in her life today that I could feed off of. I then make dinner, watch tv or read and then go to bed. Yawn!
Ok, I'm done telling you about my day. You all can wake up now!!!
Anyone who knows me knows I'm not a boring person. I am outgoing, social and love to have fun! So why am I now living this lackluster lifestyle? I'm sure the weather has a little bit to do with it. All of us have sort of been hibernating on the east coast lately. I used to walk or jog at the local trails every day. They have been snow covered for what seems like forever. So I have been doing little to no exercise. I gained 4 lbs. since New Years. I managed to not gain weight all through the holidays but then gain it in the 2 months after. There was no way that I was going to gain weight again. I've kept this weight off for 2 years! There was no way that I was going to undo all the work that I have done over the last couple years.
So I needed to do something with myself and for myself. I used to belong to a gym, but I quit last year. I found a lot of success when I belonged to the gym. I quit last year for 2 reasons. One, the zumba instructor that I loved quit and two, my husband was not working and he suggested that I quit to save money and just walk at the park. Well, I can't sit around waiting for someone to plow the trails. They never do it. Meanwhile, here I sit getting lazier and lazier. Lumpier and lumpier.
So I joined a new gym! I did some research and found a brand new gym in my town that is perfect for me and dirt cheap. They were offering $0 down and $20 a month. It's so nice and shiny and clean! All the cardio machines have TVs. What's so nice is that you can bring a guest for free anytime you want. There is no limit. I was shocked. I was like, "really?" and they said, "yes, if you want to bring your husband or daughter with you every day you can at no charge!" Wow, what a nice feature! And here is the most exciting thing about my new gym. They have free zumba classes and guess who the instructor is? My fabulous instructor that quit from my old gym!!! So excited!
So I've been going to my new gym for a week now. I love it so much. I'm really happy with it! And the icing on the cake...........I have already lost 2 of the 4 lbs. that I gained! Yay!
It may only be an hour a day. But I feel like I have a purpose now. Finally, a reason to get up in the morning. Now that's gotta be worth $20 a month. Don't ya think?
