Walking... it's a start!

Went out for a walk with my Daughter SofterSong and my husband. We brought our 3 dogs with us so they could get some exercise too. I haven't done any exercise to speak of for probably over a year. It was okay to begin and I did make it 0.88 mile but I am really out of shape! I will walk more this week and we joined our local YMCA so I will be going up there to work out on the treadmill and ellipticals (although those really kick my rear in a big way.) They have a Zumba class which I would love to join but not until I can walk a bit without feeling like I am gonna die. I'll be honest here... I don't like to sweat, I prefer being inside and out of the sun, I am not a fan of bugs (live in Florida... go figure) I am not a big fan of exercising in general but I KNOW there is no easy out. It is a must... and hopefully along the journey I will learn to enjoy it more. I enjoy music so I had my iPod all loaded up with "The Zombies" and walked along with that to inspire me to put one foot in front of the other. Did it make it easier...maybe, but it did make it more enjoyable to be sure.
My daughter, SofterSong is doing video blogging and I'm really enjoying her weekly entries. She is so clever and entertaining and truly helping to keep me on track. I am very thankful for my family who are helping me to reach my goals by joining in on SP. I'm going to try to Blog more so I can look back in the future to see how far I have come. I'm really easily thrown off track so will be logging my food daily to keep myself on goal. (Otherwise I go kinda crazy with sweets if I'm stressed out. My job is crazy stressful these days.) Planning is key. I have to have what I need to eat with me at work or I just grab some really bad food in the cafeteria.
