Busy weekend and new scale

Monday, February 09, 2015

We had record highs over the weekend here in southern Illinois and it was FANTASTIC! We reached 70 both Saturday and Sunday. We spent about 5 hours in the yard on Saturday. We had 2 large trees that were close to the house cut down. We hauled branches, wood and various yard waste from around the yard to a huge brush pile we had and set it on fire. Max had a grand time helping daddy! LOL We finished cleaning up yesterday and spent about 6 hours in the yard. I can't believe the warm temps in February. It was a nice break from winter because of course the low Friday is suppose to be 10 degrees! Welcome to winter in the midwest. There have been days we have had the heat AND the air conditioning on in the same day!

My scale broke Saturday morning. I weigh myself every day. Good or bad it is what it is and I MUST know what I weigh. Hubby bought a new one a few years ago but it always weighed me about 6 pounds heavier. HOW can this be?? So I guess I will be using hubby's but subtracting 6 pounds daily -- is that cheating??? LOL

Hope everyone has a fabulous week!!

Stay active sparkers!!

I'm also jealous of your 70° weather from the past weekend. Glad that you were able to enjoy it!

70s? We only got to 40 here in northern ILL. I'm so jealous! Sounds like you got lots done this weekend.
I know how frustrating it can be with the scales. Subtracting 6 pounds doesn't sound like cheating to me, especially when that makes it what your old scale said. I have to have mine at the same spot on the floor or else I get a different weight. Once I get carpeting in the bedroom, I may have to move it downstairs to the laundry room. At least it will be on a cement floor then and I shouldn't get the fluctuations I get now with it on the 2nd floor.

Bummer to hear about your scale breaking! Sometimes it's just the way a scale is calibrated that affects how it's weighing you, sometimes it's the surface the scale is on as well. Whether or not the scales are mechanical or electric can have some impact as well.

There may be a way to look up the model and make sure it's calibrated correctly to get an accurate weight reading online! :)

Hope more warm weather comes your way soon! emoticon
