Honesty day 12: Rebooting and relearning

Saturday, January 17, 2015

Since two of my new years resolutions is to discover 10 vegetable dishes that I love and to create a collection of 30 whole food dishes, I have been in my kitchen cooking up a storm. I have searched countless recipes and did my homework on balancing my meal plan with the new dishes that I just have been so exhausted.

Yesterday I tried out sparkpeoples boiled tilapia with garlic roasted red potatoes and sautéed green beans. I will say the tilapia and potatoes where amazing and they will be going into my whole foods collection but the green beans not so much. Maybe its because it was a frozen steam bag of vegs so that could contribute to the mediocre taste or maybe I should try veg dishes with fresh vegs. This whole rebooting my eating and relearning how to make ordinary dishes healthier while maintaining flavor is really going to challenge my culinary skills but I'm already on day 12 so lets go. Tonight for dinner it is baked salmon and brown fried rice. Also a little heads up today made day 3 with no coffee and day 11 with out any sodas or junk food.

I wish I could think of some vegetable recipes I could share with you.

Have you tried spaghetti squash? Do you make green smoothies? I've been hooked on bringing salads to work lately. My favorite is romaine lettuce with feta cheese & greek olives and just a little greek dressing.

Congrats on your progress! I haven't had soda in years, but have trouble going a day without my coffee!

    You are doing great!
