Reflections on 2014

The past few days I've been thinking a lot about what I've accomplished in the last year.

I began the year with a knee injury and had to walk most of my first race of the year. In November, I ran out 4.56 miles straight, and also completed a 5k while running the whole time (and that included a mile of hill).

I didn't track my food most of the year, and I ran sporadically - 3 days a week some weeks, 5 days a week other weeks, sometimes I went weeks without running at all. I lost 20.7 lbs anyway.

I maintained my weight over the holidays, and am starting this next year at the lowest I have been since 2007.

It has been a good year.
I have finally learned what a lifestyle change is all about (how else could I have lost over 20 lbs without really trying that hard?)
I have learned to try new things (HIIT runs uphill? Yes please!)
I have learned to be thankful for what I have (a job, a home, and someone to spend my time with)
I am engaged to marry the love of my life (and we are loving our new active lifestyles!)
I have completed 128 days in a row of over 10,000 steps (and I am not giving up that streak anytime soon!)
