Nibble Nibble Nibble

Wednesday, December 31, 2014

I am married to a nibbler! We have different food habits and weaknesses but I have to ignore my husband. I have been doing so well staying focused and tracking my food the last few days. I eat so much healthier then I ever used to but I know I need to cut calories to get the results I want. I have given away all the good holiday sweets and try to keep temptation out of the house. Out of sight-out of mind. But last night...My hubby brought out the pretzels, so I had one-I wasn't hungry but it looked good. That started a struggle because after the salt I wanted sweet-I found a tiny peppermint pattie...that wasn't enough so I got a candy cane...still not enough so I got into the popcorn...just a little. I have always been a binge eater and I have been keeping it under control since May 2014, it is always a struggle. I am not beating up on myself for last night too much because I never binged on anything, I kept changing what I was eating to try and break the mindless eating urge, and I never had a lot. However it did put me over my calorie limit for the day and that is disappointing, especially because I WASN'T EVEN HUNGRY!! I only ate it because I saw it! My hubby nibbles all day, that's HIS habit I have to ignore it!

My husband is Filipino and has always been able to eat whatever he wants. He cooks the best things and I love to eat. We have five kids and I never lost the baby weight even though the baby was born in 1978! By then I had 10 years of baby weight! When I started SparkPeople two years ago I had lost a little weight which I regained and have now lost again, but it's not easy. I had a double mastectomy in 2012 with the surgical implants put in - Dec of 2013. I'm about 100 pounds over my marriage weight (1968) and this is the lowest I have been in the past 20 years - at 230 more or less, and I am losing and will continue to do so. I'm having cataract surgery on Wednesday and I need knee surgery which will have to wait... Thank Goodness I found Spark People after trying lots of different weight loss exercises and programs. This is the best. WE CAN DO THIS! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
