What a WHIRLWIND! In a nut shell, here has been our last quarter of 2014.
OCT -- the house we have been waiting years to go on the market was listed on the 9th. We put an offer on the house and it was accepted on the 12th. Absolute elation followed quickly by panic. LOL! We started cleaning out our house of things that need to go to goodwill and donated tons of things. Had a great Halloween with Max.
NOV -- closed on the house on the 7th. We worked nearly every night and weekend getting the house ready. Had a few days off to celebrate Thanksgiving with my family in Chicago. It was a nice break.
DEC -- continued working on the BOTH houses. Dealing with phone installations, cable, new appliance deliveries and carpet installation ..... WINE please!! Put the tree up in the new house on the 16th and moved into the new house on the 19th. Took a few days off for Christmas week. Without the help of dear friends and family I am not even sure how we would have done it all.
My parents watched Max for us every night and weekend days while we ripped up carpet, cleaned, mold remidation, ripped up carpets, gutted bathrooms, cleaned out garages. We estimated 20 - 25 gallons of kilz, primer and paint. EXHAUSTED is an understatement. In addition to watching Max, my mom kept us fed. VERY well fed. I didn't lose any weight the last couple of months but I didn't gain any either and I consider that HUGE. I would be embarrassed to admit to all the crap we have been eating. UGH!
It feels wonderful to be in the new house and somewhat settled. We have a bit of cleaning to do at the other house and it is being painted for us. We have a renter moving in the first of February.
2014 was a fantastic year for us. Healthy happy and enjoying life!
2015 will be about making good choices, landscaping the yard and remodeling a gutted bathroom. Wish us luck!!
