Day #136/365 Days of Fitness Journey

Monday, November 24, 2014

So this morning I just completed my 136th day of exercise in a row (no days off). I thought I would check in to say that "I've Got This!" It really has become a habit at this point. For the first 60 days I really had to make sure that I woke up at 4:30 a.m. to exercise -- and some days it was a struggle to do that. But recently, I have noticed that I don't even give much thought to it anymore -- I just do it! I actually look forward to the "me time" before my husband and kids wake up.

I have lost about 15 pounds so far (and though I have been plateaued for over a month now) I know that I can keep this going. My only struggle is continuing to keep my diet clean. I realize that will probably be a life-long struggle for me. I just need to keep reminding myself that healthy choices taste just as good as unhealthy ones -- and the healthy choices don't come with a side of guilt for the next 24 hours after you eat them or the consequences of eating high calorie/fatty foods.

So what are the healthy food choices I need to implement... #1 Continue to MAKE breakfast each morning (instead of settling for the drive-thru). Drive-thru breakfasts are a health killer -- and usually derail my eating for the rest of the day. #2 Opt for a healthier snack after work. I have to realize that the hour between 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. will always be my hardest time. I will allow myself to eat at that time, but I need to be mindful and careful of what it will be. There are a lot of filling healthier choices that won't derail all my hard work. I can eat at that time, feel satisfied, and still meet my weight loss goals. I've got this!
