Can't take a good picture to save my life!

Tuesday, November 04, 2014

This past summer, I discovered that the activity I dearly love is outdoor project work - the more difficult, the better. :) Some SP friends asked me to post pictures when they were mostly complete, so I'm following through. I admit it - my photography is abominable, but I promised.

First, the cleaned and renovated pond, "re-rocked" with a stone waterfall (not running in pic), and a retaining wall for what I planted - spring bulbs, iris, daylilies, black-eyed Susans, comfrey, Echinacea, etc.

Eight new gardens dug and planted, some also walled.

Kitchen garden for herbs, dinner veggies, and a few flowers:

Also, three cords of firewood cut and stacked, three acres of high tensile wire fenceline cleared and the wire pulled, and fields first-cut bush hogged.

All in all, a very productive few months...and I have "new" muscles! I'm so very grateful to be able to move, to walk, to carry, to bend, and to stand back up. :) Life is great! I'm determined to maintain the muscle I've built and the weight loss over the winter months.

Thank you, friends, for all your encouragement and your comments during this process. You guys rock!

:) Gail

Oh Gail, I read yer comments on the blog--and now I'm crying--- It doesn't seem fair that a breeder can sell a poor animal with such a health risk--- not fair to Beau who just wants to live his life--- He does go Aug 24th for tests and hopefully the vets can help him--- I do worry--- I check him all the time--- poor fella--- I am so fortunate to have people like yourself to help me through this--Lynda

Love your pond. Are those Ducks in the background? Looks like you have been super busy. I agree, muscles are great to have. Your pictures are good. I can't wait to see your herb area next year, when the herbs are growing. Great idea. Good thing you have wood piled up. Looks like it will be cold soon!

Everything looks so nice and done. I know that you love to go walk in your yard or just sit and relax and admire your work.
What is Echinacea? I am not familiar with that plant.

Looks great to me, I think you did wonderful with the photography and with the gardens. Love the pond the most. Have always wanted one, but never wanted the work that goes with it. LOL I'm sure glad there are people out there who enjoy outside stuff. I hope it brings you great joy next spring and summer when those flowers and plants start blooming.
