Chemo-Rad Jane Edges Out Another Day and Keeps Going!

Thursday, October 30, 2014

Well I have started another round of new and different chemo. I thought great I will not experience any more feelings of being sick at my stomach. Well Chemo-Rad Jane has another thing coming. She did not know what she was in for. This chemo does not make you sick but it makes you muscles so achy and sore that you can hardly get out of bed and function. She just laid in bed for five days and moaned and no matter how much tylenol she would take it would not even budge the pain in the muscles. Finally she had to call the doctor and he had to prescribe a strong narcotic to help with the pain so she can finally function at least four hours at a time. So now she is doing some exercising a little walking thank goodness and some pilates to keep the muscles flexible and some strength training to the keep the muscles strong. Life is living at four hour intervals but that is okay. Just keep edging out time whenever to do things like walking and reading whenever my body allows and keep bloging my feelings so I can keep going mentally and keeping my attitude up.

I was on chemo monthly for 7.5 years. I found that when I took immune boosters like Immunocal, the side affects from the chemo were far less than when I didn't use it. Immunocal can be prescribed by your doctor in the US or purchased online. I was also taking Vitamin b, b12, c and d. I thought the flu like symptoms were less. Also I found the more I stay in bed, the more sick I would feel. If I woke up and physically got out of bed I had a bit more energy then if I lay in bed for 12 hours. Thought I would share since these helped me alot. Best of luck with your treatments. You can fight this! Stay strong and keep positive
